Outbreak linked to Mars Petcare Pet Food Products began in 2006
Though the initial recall was announced in August 2007, dry pet food generally has a 1-year shelf life, and can be kept longer.
To avoid spreading Salmonella and other pathogens that might be hiding in pet food:
-wash your hands after handling these products
-assume all dry pet foods and treats are potentially contaminated
-keep infants away from dog food and dog food bowls
